Agreement close in Tevez affair

West Ham and Sheffield United are close to agreeing a deal over compensation to end the long-running Carlos Tevez saga, BBC Sport understands.
The Blades were judged to be entitled to recompense after Tevez helped keep West Ham in the Premier League in 2007, despite being signed ineligibly.
A formal hearing was arranged for next week but the clubs wanted to avoid it.
It is believed the clubs will release a joint statement after agreeing a series of payments for a total
